Lookman is said to be recovering from a calf injury and was supposed to have an individual training session. However, he chose not to attend.
The reason for Lookman's decision is a dispute over a transfer request. Atalanta rejected two bids from Inter Milan, worth €40 million and €45 million, respectively.
Lookman expressed his frustration in a social media post, stating that he was not given the opportunity to join Inter Milan despite a recent offer that met his expectations.
He felt that Atalanta was treating him poorly and not respecting his wishes as a professional footballer. Lookman also mentioned that he had been promised better treatment but felt that these promises were broken.
Atalanta's CEO, Luca Percassi, responded by stating that the club had reached an agreement with Lookman last year, allowing him to move to a top team outside of Italy if they were to reject a suitable offer.
