McAtee had the option to play for England at the Euros or join Manchester City at the Club World Cup, but he chose to focus on the U21 team.
"I don't regret my decision at all," he said.
McAtee is happy to be with the England U21 team and is fully focused on the final match.
As the captain of the England U21 team, McAtee credits the management of coach Lee Carsley for their success in reaching the final.
"I think the biggest thing about working with Lee is the belief and trust he puts in us," McAtee said.
He believes that coach Lee Carsley gives the players the freedom to express themselves on the pitch and fills them with confidence.
When asked about nerves, McAtee said he hasn't sensed any from his teammates, but expects them to feel some before the final match.
