"It's a great challenge," Frank said at a press conference at the 50,000-seat Kai Tak Stadium in Hong Kong, which is sold out for the match. "Besides being our big rivals, and the first North London derby outside the UK, they are also one of the best teams in the world right now."
Frank took over as manager last month from Ange Postecoglou, who led the team to Europa League glory and ended a 17-year trophy drought. Despite this, Postecoglou was sacked, and Frank is aware of the expectations on him to deliver results.
Tottenham have signed attacking midfielder Mohammed Kudus from West Ham for £55 million, but have been unable to capture Morgan Gibbs-White from Nottingham Forest. Frank said that the club is constantly talking about transfers, but he prefers to keep the details private.
"In general, I am happy with the squad," Frank said. "We're aware of where we maybe want to strengthen in general. Mohammed has come in and shown his quality already. But, of course, we are looking."
One of Tottenham's problems last season was a long injury list, which included key players like Micky van de Ven. However, Van de Ven is confident that his injury problems are behind him after a first uninterrupted summer with the team.
"I haven't had a pre-season at Tottenham before," Van de Ven said. "It's more time to work on my body and to make my body prepare for the Premier League and for the Champions League and for all the other games that are coming up."
Frank emphasized the importance of having a fully fit squad available, citing the increased intensity of the game and the number of matches. He said that a good and long pre-season will help the team to be successful.
"Availability is key," Frank said. "It is difficult because there are more games and the intensity in the game is going up. The good thing is we have a good and long pre-season. That means it's possible to push and pull the players."
Frank is aware of the challenges ahead and is looking forward to the match against Arsenal.
