The club announced that Sportiello has chosen the number 57 for his jersey. This is a welcome return for Sportiello, who previously played for Atalanta from 2013 to 2017 and again from 2019 to 2023. During his time with the team, he made his Serie A debut and appeared in 137 matches across all competitions over seven and a half seasons.
Sportiello's experience includes playing in the historic 2019/20 UEFA Champions League matches against Valencia and Paris Saint-Germain. He has made over 200 Serie A appearances in his career, with 208 of those coming from Atalanta, Fiorentina, Frosinone, and Milan.
