"Today, specialization is key," Ferreira explained. "Sports and football have become so complex that they require experts in different areas." He noted that the role of a scout is to provide valuable information to the team.
The recruitment department at Forest works closely with the team's chief football officer, Ross Wilson, and the youth recruitment department. They have nine scouts stationed around the world, with two based in the UK, one in Brazil, and the rest in Europe. Each scout is responsible for their respective region but works together as a team to assess players.
When discussing the team's manager, Nuno, Ferreira emphasized the importance of trust. He said, "We all work together to identify potential players and prepare them for negotiations. The coach has many responsibilities, and it's crucial that he trusts the professionals around him."
Ferreira believes that the key to success is for the coach to trust the team's experts and for them to take an active role in the decision-making process. He believes that this approach will help the team achieve its goals.
