He later joined Wrexham and then Bolton Wanderers before moving to Newcastle United, where he won the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup, now known as the UEFA Cup, in 1969. Wyn then went on to play for various other clubs, including Manchester City, Blackpool, and Crewe Alexandra.

Throughout his career, Ronald Wyn Davies represented Wales 34 times, scoring six goals, and was affectionately known as "Wyn the Leap" due to his height of 6 feet 1 inch.

Many people have paid tribute to Wyn, including his niece, Kasey Allsup, who said, "Rest in peace, Uncle Ronald Wyn Davies. A Welsh legend, and our family's pride. You'll be missed more than words can say. Thank you for the memories, the inspiration, and the love."

Newcastle United also paid tribute to their former player, who they signed for a then-club record £80,000 in 1966. The club said, "We are deeply saddened by the passing of our former player, Wyn Davies at the age of 83. Wyn made over 200 appearances for the club and was part of our 1969 Inter-Cities Fairs Cup winning side. Our thoughts are with Wyn's family and friends at this sad time."

The Football Association of Wales also paid their respects, saying, "The thoughts of everyone at the FAW are with the family and friends of Wyn Davies during this difficult time."
