Ajax respects Jorrel Hato's desire to leave the club, but wants to keep him on board as they prepare for their first UEFA Champions League campaign since 2022. The club believes Hato is worth between €55 and €60 million, a higher amount than Chelsea's initial offer.

Jorrel Hato has already reached a personal agreement with Chelsea, and his agent, Humphry Nijman, has confirmed that the two clubs are in talks about a transfer. Hato debuted for Ajax at the age of 16 in 2023 and has since become the youngest player in club history to record 100 appearances.

Jorrel Hato is currently under contract with Ajax until the summer of 2028.
