Williams played his best football at Manchester United under Solskjaer's coaching and is currently a free agent.

He made his senior debut with Manchester United and also played for Norwich City and Ipswich Town before being released last season.

Williams, now 24, has been looking to revive his career after a 14-month suspended jail sentence for driving recklessly was handed down in May.

It is reported that Solskjaer is considering giving Williams a fresh start with Besiktas in Istanbul.
