Watzke explained how they secured the signing, saying that he was approached by the club's sporting director, Lars Ricken, and former coach, Sebastian Kehl, to help facilitate the deal. Watzke has a close relationship with the Bellingham family and Jobe himself, which he believes helped in their negotiations.

"I've had a long-standing connection with the Bellingham family and Jobe, and I was asked to help make contact with them," Watzke said. "I was able to do so, and it worked out well."

Watzke also mentioned that his personal relationship with Jobe has been beneficial in their dealings. "I have a strong bond with Jobe, which goes beyond the usual player-manager relationship," he said.
