Son started the match ahead of the upcoming Europa League final against Manchester United in Bilbao, which will take place on Wednesday.
Postecoglou noted that Son's participation was a positive sign, saying: "He's ready and available. He played 70-75 minutes, which was important for him to get back into a rhythm and show his skills."
The manager also emphasized the importance of Son's return to the team, given the recent departures of key players like James Maddison, Dejan Kulusevski, and Lucas Bergwall.
"It's a big boost for us to have another experienced player back in the team," Postecoglou said. "Our average age has been younger than the opposition in recent games, so having Sonny back is a great advantage."
Postecoglou also provided an update on the injuries suffered by Pape Matar Sarr and Oliver Moore during the match.
Sarr was taken off as a precaution after feeling discomfort in his back, but Postecoglou doesn't think it's a serious issue.
Moore, on the other hand, was fatigued due to playing a high number of minutes recently, according to the manager.
