Sancho previously spent last season on loan at Chelsea, but the team decided to pay £5 million to end their £25m obligation to buy him. Unlike the Chelsea deal, there is no clause in the agreement with Aston Villa that would require them to purchase Sancho permanently.
According to reports, the club is considering making the move permanent, citing Sancho's performance as a reason. Despite playing only 82 minutes so far, Sancho has shown enough to warrant a longer-term deal.
Aston Villa won't have to pay Manchester United a fee to keep Sancho, as his loan deal expires at the end of the season. However, Manchester United has the option to extend the deal for another 12 months.
