Torpey comes to Manchester United from Brentford, where he oversaw the rebuilding of the club's youth structure, including the launch of a full academy program from Under-9s to Under-18s.

Before joining Brentford, Torpey held various roles in academy coaching at Manchester City and Liverpool, where he led coaching across all age groups at the foundation phase.

Torpey officially started his new position at Manchester United on Monday.

In a statement, he expressed his enthusiasm for joining the club, saying, "It's a great time to be joining Manchester United as the club enters a new era. I'm looking forward to contributing to the continued success of the academy."
