The Magpies secured a 4-1 win over Bradford in the Carabao Cup, with Miley making his mark alongside academy graduate Joelinton.
Miley took to social media on Sunday to thank the fans, saying he was "proud" to have achieved a milestone for the club despite facing negative attention.
Joelinton spoke after the match, backing Miley and acknowledging the challenges of being a young player in the spotlight.
"It's always difficult to see a teammate get criticized," Joelinton said. "I've been in similar situations, and I know how it feels. The team needs to improve, and we all need to take a hard look at ourselves and get better."
Newcastle head coach Eddie Howe also praised Miley's performance, highlighting his ability to control the midfield and provide quality passes to his teammates.
"I thought Lewis was excellent," Howe said. "He played some great passes and helped us control the midfield area. He's had two good performances in a row, and I'm pleased to see him developing his skills and experience."
Miley's performance against Bradford and the support from Howe and Joelinton will likely give him a boost of confidence heading into the next match against Arsenal.
