After 25 years as chairman, Daniel Levy was let go without prior notice.
The decision to remove Levy was made by the majority shareholders, the Lewis family, who own ENIC.
According to reports, Levy was not permitted to enter the Tottenham training ground one last time to collect his personal belongings.
Levy's wife, Tracey, who also worked at the club, was also terminated at the same time.
Both Levy and his wife were asked to collect their belongings from the club's premises via a van.
Levy still retains a minority shareholding in the club.
